The village of Skala Eressos in the western part of Lesvos (Also written Lesbos) is situated in a very beautiful bay of the island. The village has a wonderful beach where a part of the beach is nudist beach. The naturist part of the beach starts where the beach promenade ends, and the village ends.
Skala Erresos village is much more relaxed and laid back than what you would find in the tourist cities. The streets of Skala Eressos which border the beach are closed to all cars, making it quiet and safe to walk.
The town ends with the road to the beach where cafes and restaurants have build decks that extends to the beach. This gives the Skala Eressos a wonderful “Hangin’ loose” atmosphere. The village is really child friendly because of this relaxed attitude.
The village has been a very popular amongst women (especially lesbian women) for more than 50 years. The popularity started with the poet and teacher Sappho. A “Women festival” takes place in Skala Eresou every September, attracting women from all over the world.
For many lesbian women Skala Eressos has become “Women Paradise”, woman can walk hand in hand, kiss, and have fun without attraction attention from others. It is a perfect place for a summer holiday as a lesbian. Lovely weather, good atmosphere, wonderful beach and even a good nude section on beach.
