Naturist campsites are tired of butt watchers

There is only a few months to the start of the camping season, and here the naturists expects unwelcome prying eyes on their bums. Watchers who visit the naturist camp sites just to stare on naked people.

– We do not want the elevator looks from short-term guests – especially men – are wearing clothes only come to spy on our campers. I tell them to find another place to be, says Sylvia Andersen, commander of NFJ Naturistcamping at Kysing Beach between Aarhus and Odder.

She also tells that some people buy one-day card to use the beach and the facilities, but instead they are spending their time to stroll around and lurk instead.

You could ofcourse just deny single men or woman access to the camp site, but then again some naturists is also single.

– Singles of both genders is welcome as long as they behave in a decent way, so other campers can be comfortable with them. Naturistcamping is a place where people are camping out with no clothes on . This often leads to visits of guests who just wants to come and look at naked people. The owner at NFJ naturistcamping tells

Your experience

Personnaly I haven’t had that kind of experience, but then again I am a male, and probably not that interesting to stare at. Therefore I would love to hear your experience from where you live.

Feel free to write a comment on the post- I will love to hear it.

Single man rejected by naturists

Written by Peter Terp. Posted in Blog

CampsiteA man complained to the Equal Treatment Board over a naturist campsite, which according to the guest’s own admission denied him access. According to the man their reason was that single men are not allowed to enter.

The man has been a member of Danish Naturist Union for 4 years, and therefore don’t understand why he was rejected.
– he points out that there was no unlawful discrimination and therefore requested a written statement on the refusal of access. This request was rejected by the receptionist and the President, writes Board of Equal Treatment in the decision.

The man says, moreover, that he during the last four years has been seven naturist campsites where he was well received.

The campsite

The campsite owners, however, has a different version of the story:
Respondent says that singles of both genders is welcome as long as they behave in a decent way, so other campers can be comfortable with them. Naturistcamping is a place where people camp with no clothes on. This often leads to visits of guests who just wants to come and look at naked people, is the explanation from the campsite holders according to the Board.

When the case “requires proof in the form of oral part or witness statements,” states Board of Equal Treatment, that it can only be settled by a court.

Body Ideals and pornofication makes children insecure

Written by Peter Terp. Posted in Blog

Child hiding
In Denmark there is something called Børnetelefonen, which basically is a child helpline where children can call with all their problems. In 2014 there was a huge rise in calls regarding body and sexuality. I think it’s a worrying trends and that it simultaneously shows the pressure is on body ideals in society.

Most of the questions that the children was asking was still about love, unfriendly people and stuff like that. But new questions has entered the top 10 question, and that is what is worrying.

A change in the questions

Bente Boserup, Head of Child Helpline says
– We are seeing a larger body fright than previously among the children and young people who contact us. They see silicone breasts on the buses, and the boys sees big penises on the net and think that their own is too small.

– There has been a general pornofication of the body, and the kids are confused about the worship of the constructed body, while generally being talked less about the body and sexuality in society because no one will be accused of pedophilia, she says.

Professor Christian Graugaard isn’t suprised

Christian Graugaard, professor of sexology at Aalborg University, is not surprised that the childrens helpline is getting more questions about the body and sexuality:

– It probably reflects the fact that children and young people today are living in a public space that is filled with ideals of the good body, good sex and good sexuality, he says to the paper Kristlig Dagblad.

– If the coils a few generations back, it was not the same massive bombardment of the ideals that we see in popular culture today, he says.

A backlash is needed

We live in a society where people post picture perfect bodies on Instagram and Facebook, where medias tries to make nudity equal to sex, photoshopped pictures is the norm and porn is easy accessable. This is how it is. I am not advocating that you should make laws and restrictions, because I don’t think it will have any good effects.

What I am advocating about is that if we loosen up a bit, and start showing the world that nudity is not equal sex, and that a human body actually is very different from person to person.

I think that naturism, nudism or just people who love to be nude can be a part of that backlash. When you bring your child to a nude beach or at naturist resort, your child will learn that we are all equal and different at the same time. Some is high, some is low, some has a little more on the side bones and others is skinny, some has a large penis and some has a small one. It is all natural and it is actually ok that we are different, so why dont we praise it.

Women in Rio in topless protest

Written by Peter Terp. Posted in Blog

Topless protest in rio

Brazilians demonstrates At Ipanema Beach – they fight for their rights to bathe topless on the beach.

If women bathing topless on one of the beautiful beaches of white sand, they risk up to 1 year in prison.

In the strictly Catholic country regarded this fact as an obscene act.

But the Brazilian women want their rights to walk bare breasted on the beach. Therefore, the Tuesday under heavy media presence, gathered at Ipanema beach in Rio, where more women threw the top.

I can only say that I support their mission – why is it ok for men to go topless, but not for women?

Why is a nudity more offensive than murder?

Written by Peter Terp. Posted in Blog

Nude murder
I keep wondering why it is such a big thing that a person show their body naked. Today it is illegal for a woman to be topless and breastfeed in public in 35 US states. In less tolerant states can an exposed nipple put a woman in jail for up to three years and cost $2,500 fine. How can that be such a big thing?

Super Bowl

Do you remember this scene. One sees Justin Timberlake in a sliding motion dance toward Janet Jackson, standing close to her, and a little awkwardly move your hand toward her chest, just as he sings: “Bet I’ll be You Naked …”. In 9.16 seconds watching millions of viewers a bared breast with a star-shaped necklace over the nipple. Nobody remembers what happened after the break in the Super Bowl fight that night in 2004 at Houston’s Reliant Stadium. But all remember seeing a naked breast. In USA this was a major scandal, and probably also in many other countries. In Denmark it wasn’t a big thing though.

I was recently banned on Facebook, for posting one or more images which showed a bare nipple. If I had posted a picture of a manslaughter og violence I most likely wouldn’t get banned. I just can’t get into my head why murder is much more accepted than nudity. We were born naked and naked is our natural state – why have we become so afraid of who we really are?

The right to choose

I believe in that people should have the right to be free in there living as long as they don’t harm other people. If you prefer to be nude, are gay, muslim or other religions etc. I believe in that all should have the freedom to choose. This freedom comes with ressponsibility – the responsibility to not push people to do things that are against there will, and the responsibility to be open minded to others. We all have our small fragments of strangeness – I love it.

I do not think we should cultivate violence, by legalizing violence and murder of social medias, while prohibiting natural things such as nudity on social medias. This distortion of what is ok and what is not ok, will cause problems in the form of more violence and body image problems.
When you frequently see violence and dead bodies without problems on example Facebook you will overtime think of it as natural. I don’t want violence and murder to be natural- will you?
When you never see a naked body, and when people are banned for posting a naked body on Instagram or Facebook, you will start thinking this is bad, this is not natural, this is not ok. In the end you will start wondering how an average naked body looks like. I don’t think this is a good development.

I believe we should start promoting the natural and good things in life instead of promorting bad things.

Shouldn’t we promote what is good in live, shouldn’t we promote what is natural?

A little from my own clothes free life – Guest post by Bjarne

Written by Bjarne. Posted in Blog

BjarneWe are struck by a paradox between that we have been afraid to show own bodies naked while a public space that is overexposed with bodies and nudity.

I have a lifetime had the most naturally without clothes on the beach

I have always had a relaxed attitude to nudity in every way – my own as well as others – just a clothes free life as much as possible

And therefore also standing as a model for various nude photos, bodypainting etc. when I have been asked

I have gone to the naked yoga in yogafactory, Copenhagen – unfortunately, with too few participants – but hopefully it comes back – and moreover an obvious opportunity as hotyoga – and nakedyoga is by no means as transboundary as someone might think and certainly not with a lot of sweat in the face – latest news I’ve heard today is, that there will be naked yoga again in early 2015 in a different place in Copenhagen

Just be in the moment as you are – namaste

Love to do a little morning exercise at home every morning – and it’s done fine in the bar ass whether it’s with hula hoop ring or “plank” or various yoga exercises, hand weights etc.

Love to attend midnight bathing with saunagus which are held regularly in an old bath house in Copenhagen, it’s with mixed age and gender – optional clothing – so it isn’t really a naturist place, but people just are complete relaxed and most naked – and a nice social atmosphere.

Danish singer encourage bare bums

Written by Peter Terp. Posted in Blog

The danish singer Szhirley is involved in a new children’s song ‘Barrøvsindianer’, which is about how nice it is to run around with bare bums

Children should be allowed to be free Szhirley says in an interview. As a parent and a naturist I can only agree with her.

She continues
– It is the world’s coolest song on the very best, that we all knew when we were little. Namely running around with a bare butt at home, in the garden, in the park and on the beach, writes the 38-year-old musician, who in 2013 was hosted by the children’s Eurovision Song Contest, on her Instagram profile.

Shirley has a hidden agenda in the music, she want to set focus on that it is ridiculous, to get worked up about small children without much clothes on playing with each other.

– Can’t we just stop the stupid sexualization of children showing each other their small willy and suchlike? It must you who have a serious problem. There’s something wrong with you if you can not bear to see a 4-year child with a bare bum building sand castle at Bellevue beach (popular beach in Denmark, Copenhagen), writes the pop singer.

The song is written by Kalle B. (know from TV with his songs for children). Besides Szhirley the producer Christoffer Stjerne is also involved in the song.

Formentera, Spain for naturists – worth the visit

Written by Bjarne. Posted in Blog

Bjarne Bødker
I live in Denmark / Copenhagen

I have a lifetime had the best of nude bathing and have never seen own or others’ nudity as an issue – probably a little hippie-like on this point

I have never been involved in anything associational, because what I feel is natural does not need to get into the “box”

I have never called me naturist. I have only used the word naturist if I searched online

Once nude bathing very common in Denmark, but I feel it has changed and liberty has moved south, especially to Spain.

I love self summer holidays in ibiza and especially formentera regarding naturist life and be able to swim, sunbathe and play beach tennis naked – the great sense of liberty everywhere.

At Ibiza my favorite beach is Salinas around Sa Trinxa

At formentera I love to stay in Es Pujols, in fabulous favorite hotel Tahiti , Tahiti / facebook at because of cafe life at night – a day’s fifth min. walk to the beautiful naturist beaches

The crystal clear, turquoise-colored water and, and the possibility of nude bathing almost everywhere – optional-clothing – attracts – the equal gender and age distribution – and of course the weather is also a definite plus.

Favorite beach is clearly Platja des Canyers 5 min. walk from Es Pujols west. A small beach only 85 meters long, but very cozy and where up to 70% are naturists. Most have food and drink with, but otherwise there are only 5 min. walk to one of the sides to find what you want to eat / drink at a cafe. So many people are the same we meet year after year and get to know, whatever country they are from.

Whether you are into snorkeling or beach tennis can Platja des Canyers clearly recommended.

Of course there are many other beaches eg. Migjorn which is also visited by bicycle. The beaches all the way from Es Pujols up against Playa Llevant to Es Palmador I would definitely recommend. Illetas is too crowded in July / August. But 5 minutes walk to the other side you get to the much quieter Levante beach.

The released, a little hippie-like atmosphere – and bohemian atmosphere everywhere on Formentera indictments. If you love the cozy cafés in the evenings I would definitely recommend to stay in or near Es Pujols.

Alyssa Milano is surprised about reactions on breastfeeding images

Written by Peter Terp. Posted in Blog

In Denmark we have had our share of the breastfeeding debate. Why is it that people think it is such a big thing that a mom breastfeeds in a public area, I don’t get it, but other people think it is discusting. It seems like it is not just in Denmark the debate is taking place.

41 year old American actress Alyssa Milano, who is best known for her role as Phoebe in “Charmed”, has posted two pictures on her Instagram profile, where she feeds her newborn daughter.

The images has led to a large number of comments. Several persons applaus praises Alyssa Milano for putting such daring pictures online, and for being open about breastfeeding. Others are more negative, and think that images like of that kind should’nt be shared on social media.

The negative comments got Alyssa Milano to the keys. On Twitter, she wrote that she could not understand how people can be offended by her nursing pictures, but the same people have absolutely no problems with Kim Kardashian butt pictures in Cover Magazine.

Subsequent she wrote on Twitter to her followers, that they should post pictures where they breast feed there infants. Afterwards she posted the pictures on Twitter to strike a blow for breastfeeding in public. A call which she later had to revise when she there was complaines about posting extremely many pictures in a short time on Twitter.

Now she “like” images. If you want a “like” on your breastfeed image, then you should just hashtagge his picture with #normalizebreastfeeding .

I think it is great when celebs use there status to make a statement for making the world a better place. Some don’t think this would make the world better, but I do. I really don’t understand how and why people has become so afraid of what is natural.

Do you think this kind of actions is for the better?
